Welcome to the official home of Machine Burning Records. Although we specialize in electronic dance music, we have a burgeoning interest in any genre that catches our ear. With recent changes on the world stage occurring these actions inevitably began to lead to a not-so-subtle backlash played that is out through social resistance to such rapid transition as the planet hurtles into a decidedly dystopian future. Long in the works, the sound of Machine Burning Records serves as a bastion to the corporate excess that toxifies the music industry with mind-numbing garbage through a DIY ethos and a love of just making music, period. The means by which this is achieved is through application of sample and frequency.
For one, this music loves sampling, and it’s a thrill to see how mundane noises can be remodulated and shaped into something rhythmic and, possibly, melodic. For another, it’s an adventure into overlapping frequencies in order to unlock new dimensional frontiers in sound. In fact, our mission statement captures our dedication to taking our music into different realms: Frequentiæ Trans Dimensionibus…. Latin for “frequencies across dimensions.”
As a future looking organization, we are analogue in our delivery of music forged through high tech means. Our pursuit of vinyl releases of highly layered, materially textured music that some would consider is best appreciated strictly through a digital interpretation is driven by the fact that a vinyl record is more than just a disc that contains sounds etched into grooves but rather that it serves as an audible document of a song’s existence.
What better way is there to acknowledge the chaos we’re walking into then through the distribution of tomorrow’s music using a retro form of technology in order to prepare ourselves for the coming dystopian future… right?
